Last summer I photographed Becki and Chris’ Shenandoah Valley wedding alongside Stacy Smith Evans Photography. Becki and Chris exchanged vows at Blue Sky Ranch in Front Royal. The week leading up to the wedding was challenging because the weather forecast kept changing. The wedding vision and hope was to get married in front of the most beautiful tree in a field.
However, the weather had other plans. Therefore, Becki and Chris had to make the decision to go with their back-up plan, a ceremony in front of the barn which didn’t disappoint. Although it rained throughout Becki and Chris’ day it didn’t damper the joy and smiles from all. Becki prepared for the day in a beautiful home with a photographers dream front porch. The porch saved us because it rained right at bridal party portrait time but you can’t even tell!
Meanwhile, Chris spent time with his groomsman laughing and joking. As the ceremony neared it was apparent Chris’ nerves got the best of him. Once the ceremony started Chris couldn’t hold back his emotions. He watched as his children came down the aisle and then his bride. He couldn’t control the overwhelming emotions! They exchanged vows and were announced husband and wife.
During the reception, we took Becki and Chris out to the field for sunset photos. So, we hopped on the ATV, camera gear and all through mud and puddles with lots of laughter. The tall tree at the ideal ceremony sight was perfect for GORGEOUS portraits for them. The sunset was beautiful and these two couldn’t keep their hands off one another. These two truly enjoyed the intimate time away together taking in the Shenandoah Valley sunset!
