George Washington Hotel Virginia Wedding

Kenny & Amelia’s wedding in Historic Downtown Winchester, Virginia was picture perfect! The end of March marked the beginning of Spring. Amelia brought in all the elements of Spring from her vision with her floral choices and colors which were breathtaking. We started the day in Amelia’s family home where she grew up. The home was filled with historic charm, larger rooms with adjacent smaller rooms, nooks and lots of character. Amelia, her bridesmaids, and family were all gathered getting their hair and makeup done. They were so calm, snuggled up in their comfy pajamas and excited for the day!

After everyone was dressed, a shuttle transported them to Sacred Heart of Jesus Winchester where the ceremony was held. The stained glass windows in churches are always fascinating to me. A Mass was being held when we arrived and it was unique to see the transformation for the ceremony set up. Once married, we took a drive to the Handley Library, another iconic downtown location. The wedding party gathered for photos and then photos of the couple after.

The George Washington Hotel held the cocktail hour and reception. It was important for Amelia and Kenny to greet their guests as they arrived to the cocktail hour to mingle with them. Since they aren’t currently local they wanted to catch up with everyone. While at cocktail hour, the reception space was transformed into a warm, Spring oasis. The florals were the perfect pop of color to compliment the neutral aesthetic of the George. It’s one of my favorite color pallets to date. Amelia thought of everything, from the color scheme, the floral selection, the apple butter at each place setting, paintings of their home and pup. So many gorgeous aspects to this wedding!
