September started off by traveling to The Country Club of Virginia in Richmond to photograph Michelle and Matt’s wedding. I photographed this wedding with Audrey of Audrey Rose Photography and we had such a blast with this couple and their bridal party.
As soon as I arrived Michelle’s bridal party and mom warmly welcomed me. They were getting their hair and make-up done to look their absolute best. All of the ladies in the bridal party were so helpful and friendly that I couldn’t easily tell who the maid of honor was. They were all there to ensure the perfect day for their sweet friend. These girls were seasoned wedding veterans because they knew all of the small intricate details and the importance.
Once precious moment that stood out was as Michelle was getting her hair done and she was rehearsing her promise to Matt. She was reading them aloud and started to get emotional. However it got more emotional when her sister asked to hear them and then they both started to cry. It brought tears to my eyes to see the connection between these girls and made me wish I had a sister.
As soon as I entered the room where the guys were I could instantly tell who Matt was. He was radiating nerves and anxiousness. His groomsman were doing their very best to keep him laughing by cutting up. Matt is in the military and many of his guys were as well so they wore their dress blues.
The ceremony took place at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church where the couple exchanged personal promises to one another in a Catholic service. A bubble exit welcome Michelle and Matt as they left the church.
No detail was spared for Michelle and Matt’s reception. They had the lights atop of the dance floor, a live band, and toy soldiers for party favors. Michelle went against tradition and gave a toast. She shared that they had been keeping a secret from most of the guests. Michelle and Matt married last year and were about to celebrate their one year wedding anniversary. These two have already endured one deployment and know that many more are ahead of them. Above all, they know that with their families and each other they will get through every future deployment.
