Bel Air 1740 Virginia Wedding

Bel Air 1740

Bel Air 1740 in Woodbridge is a hidden gem. It’s 25 acres of seclusion making you feel like your in an English estate garden nestled in Prince William County. Kayla and Brandon knew it was their wedding venue when they toured it. The classic, timeless feel of the grounds and the black and white elegance of the barn won them over and it did not disappoint. Kayla and Brandon, middle school sweethearts have had a lot of time to envision their wedding day. So it’s no surprise that no detail was forgotten.

Kayla hand wrote every guest a note placed at their table setting. The envelopes along with a biscuit bar and cocktails honored their fur babies, Max, Goose, and Odie. I had never seen a biscuit bar before so I was already impressed but then later found out the bride and her mom made all of the biscuits themselves! Odie even made an appearance as the Dog of Honor complete with bandana and greenery on his leash!

Kayla and Brandon incorporated a European vibe throughout but I loved the mini newspaper they created for a welcome to their ceremony. It was complete with facts about them, their wedding party and more. It was a nice read while the guests waited for the ceremony to start. They even included small golf pencils to complete some games included in the newspaper. A true labor of love but such a sweet personal touch.

The details continued with a live painter who during the ceremony and reception worked on a gorgeous piece of art for Brandon and Kayla. It was such a unique touch to watch a painter in action. Kayla honored her mother with a bridal bouquet handoff thanking her for being her mom and helping put together such a beautiful wedding which I thought was so precious. These food lovers had not only cake but also custom doughnuts, one flavor was s’mores with actual chocolate, marshmallows and graham cracker filling that were delicious. Kayla slipped into a Nike sweatsuit along with custom sneakers with the wedding date and “Mrs. Rutherford” on them as the night continued.

There were so many details and more that I am forgetting but truly the day was so personal and unique to these two and such a joy to photograph.
