Last Friday, I ended my work week at 2 p.m. so I could start my anniversary weekend with my husband ASAP. He surprised me with a weekend getaway at Landsdowne Resort in Leesburg, VA. It is absolutely gorgeous! Anytime you can get away from your daily routine and relax is a great time. The resort itself was a little hard to photograph because it had mature trees in front of it but we have a great view of the clubhouse.

We got there Friday night and checked the place out. On Saturday we had breakfast at Anita’s, amazing Mexican breakfast burritos. Probably not the best breakfast option before putting on a swim suit but hey it was a mini vacation.

After breakfast we stopped at a Wal-Mart for swimming trunks for my hubby because he forgot them and then we stayed by the pool all day…not the best idea. I didn’t think much of it since the sun wasn’t out the entire time but I got burned. 🙁 The picture below was while we were still in the shade and all was well. I will spare you the after photo, let’s just say a little painful. I did indulge in a Malibu bucket, photo on the right. More of a fruity drink than an alcoholic drink.

We stayed by the pool until we went in and got dressed for dinner and some shopping at Leesburg Outlets. Hubby got a few things and I got another addition to the Curry Coach family!!! We went home afterwards and relaxed, ordered a fudge brownie sundae and chocolate chip cookies because we could!!! On Sunday, we came home and had out top-tier of our wedding cake, just as moist and delicious as on our wedding day. Thank you Cake Boutique in Winchester! We unpacked and relaxed (took a nap) enjoyed the thunder-storm we got. It was a great weekend and I am so glad to call him my husband. It’s been a crazy first year but I wouldn’t have wanted to be with anyone else. He is my rock and my other half, we balance each other out and have such a great time together.
