What’s your area of expertise?
All wedding things floral, bouquets, boutonniere, corsages, centerpieces, ceremony and reception decoration.
When did you start? Background? Education? Experience
I started in the floral industry in August of 2000. Straight out of high school, I went to work for a florist and spent 14 years there learning the ins and out’s of the industry. I then decided I wanted to open my own floral shop and did so in September of 2014. After 3 successful years I decided the real direction I wanted to take was weddings. So I moved my business to my home and did just that. I’m into my second year as being home based and it was the best decision I’ve ever made!
Why do you do what you do?
I love doing what I do because it’s gratifying to see my Brides vision become a reality, and to know that I contributed to one of the most memorable days in their lives, makes me so proud!
What do your services include?
My services include a FREE floral consultation and a wide range of services to include delivery, set up and breakdown. We also offer rental items such as wooden boxes and vases for centerpieces and material for draping.
When should a couple book a florist for their wedding?
A couple should book their florist at least 7-9 months or up to a year prior to their wedding. Booking the florist of your choice assures you their services and gives you plenty of time to discuss details and build a relationship, which is very important.
What items should a couple have completed prior to having a consultation?
Couples should have completed prior to consultation all attire for bridal party, have color palette chosen, venue secured, photographer secured, guest count and timeline in rough draft.
Best way to save money on flowers?
The best way to save money on flowers is to have an open mind as far as selection, stay within season and trust your florist to make the proper selection and recommendations.
Helpful tips to come prepared for your consultation
Helpful tips to keep in mind before meeting with your florist are a set date, time of ceremony, bring color swatches if possible, photo examples and have your venue secured.
What tips do you have to picking a good florist? Or a florist that fits the couple?
It is important to make sure your personalities mesh well. Ensure you both have the same vision when discussing florals. It is important the florist listens to your needs and wants and emphasizes on them. An organized florist who takes notes is ideal. It’s all in the details. Make sure your florist is specific with details.
