The Virginia Arboretum once again didn’t disappoint for Chloe and Ryan’s engagement session. These two outdoor lovers opted for gardens and greenery. Chloe and Ryan met in their freshman year of college at Longwood University through mutual friends. Unfortunately, they each were in relationships at that point so they remained friends in passing. However, at the end of their sophomore year, both Chloe and Ryan were single. Ryan asked Chloe to attend an event with him, as friends. They ended up spending the entire weekend together and instantly knew they were each other’s “one.”
The feeling of the “one” was only reaffirmed when Chloe saw Ryan interact with her family. She recalls how he felt like home, but when she realized how similar he is to her dad and grandfather, she knew she wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. So it was only fitting that Ryan enlisted the help of Chloe’s mom and best friend for the proposal.
Ryan planned a beach picnic at Chloe’s grandparents beach house. They were eating dinner when Ryan ran down the stairs all dressed up and Chloe was in running shorts and a t-shirt. Ryan suggested Chloe get dressed up for their anniversary surprise on the beach. As they were walking to the beach, Chloe saw her best friend running with a photographer so secretly she knew what was happening. But they continued to walk down the beach, the opposite direction of the picnic. They finally turned around to see what Ryan had planned. A beautiful picnic set up with champagne, photos of them, and a charcuterie board. Ryan dropped down on one knee and popped the question. After Chloe and Ryan had their moment, Chloe’s family came down to celebrate with them!
September can’t get here fast enough to celebrate these two in September.
