Founders Park in Old Town Alexandria is where we went for Kat and Kevin’s engagement session. Last September, Kevin proposed to Kat so it was only fitting to revisit! These two celebrate their dating anniversary of August in 2019. Their first date was at Uncle Julio’s where they were both nervous. Kevin was the perfect gentleman. He opened doors and pulled Kat’s chair out to be the sweetheart he is. It won her over quickly!
Three months after Kat and Kevin started dating they went on a beach trip. On this trip they took pictures on the beach together and both were genuinely happy. This is when Kat and Kevin both knew they were one another’s person. So it was no surprise that only one year after starting to date Kevin proposed.
Kevin planned his proposal by taking Kat to dinner at one of his favorite restaurants, Chadwicks in Old Town Alexandria. He mentioned to Kat that he had a gift for her but that she wasn’t allowed to see the gift until after dinner. After dinner, Kevin grabbed the gift out of his car and they went on a walk near the marina. He told her that he wouldn’t give it to her until they reached an empty bench.
Once they found the perfect bench, Kevin handed the gift bag to Kat to open. Inside of the gift bag was the cutest “lovebook” that Kevin created online. Kat shared that she looked through the whole book and on the last page, it read, “Angel will you marry me?” Kat recalls crying her eyes out and barely being able to answer him, but she said YES!
These two are not only the sweetest people but they love to serve others! Kat is a 1st grade teacher and Kevin is a Police Officer. They enjoying cooking together and playing softball. If they could go anywhere they would love to travel to Australia, Germany and Caribbean. They have dreams of starting a family and having two German Shepards of which they already have names picked out, Vader and Sergeant! I know whatever the future holds for these two will keep it interesting with lots of laughs. I can’t wait for their wedding in September at 48 Fields!
