Woodlands Virginia Anniversary

The 5th wedding anniversary gift is wood. So it only seemed fitting to go on yet another adventure with Alyssa and Dyllan in the woodlands. If you have been around any amount of time then you know Alyssa always had something in store for us. It all started with their epic wedding in Iceland. That was my first destination wedding and it was AMAZING! I still can’t get over the fact that they took me to another country to document their wedding.

But every year since we have done anniversary photos to document their love story. We have hiked a trail on Skyline Drive to photograph at sunset on a huge rock. We have photographed them with their pups at the River Walk in Strasburg. We have included mountain views at Belle Grove and Rockland Park. There always tends to be some sort of weather where we have to reschedule, new challenge, or pushing me out of my comfort zone. This year’s anniversary session was no different. On the original date the forecast was calling for thunderstorms so we rescheduled. Alyssa wanted to include her fur babies and do photos in the woodlands which from these pictures sounds amazing, but would you believe I used flash for all of these?
