Blandy Virginia State Arboretum was the perfect venue for JC and Katelyn’s morning anniversary session! It was so serene how calm and quiet everything was. It was almost magical to watch as everything woke for the day. Not to mention that the temperatures were much more forgiving first thing in the morning in July. Anyways….these two! I am partial as this is my brother and his girlfriend. This session is 2 years in the making trying to get them in front of my camera.
Between the three of us working and going to school it was tough to find a time that worked well with everyone’s schedules. But it got even harder when Katelyn moved to Florida with her family. When she told me she was coming up for a visit to celebrate their two year anniversary and they would be available on a Sunday morning, I jumped at the opportunity even though it meant getting up early on a Sunday, but I am so glad that I did!
These two remind me of TJ and I in the beginning stages of our relationship. They are learning how to balance full-time jobs, full school schedules, homework, family and each other. I can remember in the beginning it being the hardest. But these two make it work and make it look easy. Even now when Katelyn is a 12+ hour drive away they still make time to talk and visit as much as they can since it is so expensive and time consuming to drive or fly. I know they are separated by hundreds of miles right now but there isn’t a shadow of a doubt that they will make it through this tough season of life and their next season of life will be that much more gratifying knowing they went through this together.
Even though I am not a morning person, these photos are AMAZING! They are so genuine in love!
